About Me
PLEASE EMAIL ME FOR A SAMPLE CD OF MY WORK AND TO CHECK MY AVAILABILITY.
I am a confident and proficient drummer, recording artist and teacher specializing in rock/grime/R'n'B styles and cross generic music. I cover the whole London and East Anglia area as I have houses in both London and Norwich.
I am a trained actor, have a degree in music production and can record and mix any instrument to its maximum sound potential.
My drumming style is very edgy as I create many new sounds and rhythms throughout my beats but with a good mix of classic grooves and fills.
I strongly believe that...
'a good drummer can go unnoticed because they fill the space so perfectly it doesn't distract the ears from the music'
and in the locution...
PLAY CLASSIC STUFF, JUST PLAY IT WELL!
I can sight read and can comfortably play any style. I also play the Bass and Guitar to a very high standard which means I can compose and record almost anything I like.
Like most musicians, I also teach, and I specialize in running group sessions. I have taught children with special needs, young offenders and English language students and my workshops provide a valuable means of communication based therapy, confidence building and language teaching, respectively. As well as musical knowledge.
Whether teaching, playing live or recording I will bring energy and enthusiasm into the room and always add an original sparkle to the music.
Credits And Employment History
For the last five years I have worked as a free-lance musician and written below are some examples of my work.
I also work as a music workshop practitioner and am currently setting up my own business in this field. I mainly lead drum workshops but also general music, recording and singing.
CHARITY PROJECTS
In October 2009 I worked in Morocco for the charity terresansfrontiere.org. Working with musicians from all over the world our aim was to provide entertainment and an inside to the arts for the local orphanage and deprived children in the area.
RECORDING
Throughout 2009 I have been working closely with R'n'B producer Davinche (producer for Kano, Estelle and Tynchy Stryder). We have now successfully turned his studio produced album into a live showcase ready for touring in 2010 and have performed on Radio 1's Raz Kwame show.
To date I have played on a total of 16 albums with 7 different bands.
REHABILITATION
In early 2008 I was employed by Rideout - creative arts for rehabilitation. I worked as a musician and actor on a tour of prisons in the west midlands.
PERFORMING
My performance work has included playing a residency at Glastonbury Festival for ska act 'Number One Station', playing at the And' Art Festival in Tangiers, Morocco and at the Eastern Haze Festival in Norfolk.
OTHER, media, marketing, teaching.
I completed a four month University internship at Ministry of Sound records where I worked in the media and marketing department (mainly on the video for Number 1 Hit 'Somebody's Watching Me' by the 'Beatrfreakz').

Other Skills / Additional Information
Other important qualities are my personal skills as you have to be very amicable, tolerant and above all patient in the world of live music as in the studio. I am a great organiser and motivator of people and have made many succesful projects out of it. My particular skill is arrangement of other peoples music for a live setting. Being a drummer I can map out the song and it's rhythmical impact from start to finish with the most musical effect in a way that other musicians sometimes overlook. Playing the bass has given me another aspect of my rhythmical diversity and helps me write structured back-lines to all kinds of music.
