Employment History

2013 - Conducted all professional studio recording of composer Denis Betro's 'Daughters Of Abraham' at Smokehouse Studios in London - also now undertaking further studio projects as MD/string arranger/fixer- available through Smokehouse Studios or direct for bespoke studio packages to solo singers (song arrangements, vocal coaching, fixing session musicians and orchestrations.
Horley Singers Concerts (Including Faure Requiem with Orchestra and Soloists) Opera Foundry performances and Biz Theatre School Productions. Bespoke technical and musical coaching for professional level theatre and opera singers.

2012 - Concerts with Horley Singers, Guest Conducting L'Harmonie de L'Union, Vendin le Vieil. Inaugural performances as Artistic Director of 'Opera Foundry'. MD for theatre productions of 'The Sound of Music' - for Vocal Performance Academy Productions (Beck Theatre, Hayes) and 'Footloose' for Biz Productions.

1985 Percussion tutor to Kent Music School, also Bromley Youth Orchestra (86-7) and Bexley Music.

1987-2007 Member English National Opera. Many roles for the company during this time, performing alongside the cream of Britain's opera establishment, freelance choral work including 'London Voices', also solo concerts and appearances with other companies and festivals in principal roles. These have included The Baylis Project, Contemporary Opera Studio, Het Muziek Theatre Amsterdam, Chiltern Opera and Holland Park Festival.
Tours and engagements in Italy, Holland, Spain, Russia and The Ukraine.

Conducting work where singing contracts have permitted, including a semi-staged opera and some concert performances.

Music composed, performed and produced for some short films.
Continuing research and study in the areas of composition and performance direction.

I left ENO in July 2007 in order to make time for some composition commitments and further develop these other areas of music making. As well as composing, I have developed a strong portfolio as a singing teacher and MD
Since a very succesful production of 'The King and I' which I conducted in 2008 -I have coached MT students for the 2008 'Growing Talent' convention at Disneyland Paris, taught at Arts Educational School, London, and Guildford School of Acting Intensive Singing Summerschools, worked as an accompanist for various singers, as well as being engaged to MD productions of 'Fame -the Musical', 'Beauty and The Beast', 'Kiss Me Kate' and 'West Side Story'.
In 2009 I conducted the first work-in-progress excerpt from my opera -'The Woodcutter's Daughter' at the Grimeborn Opera Festival. I am currently working on the further development of this opera, as well as taking on the Musical Directorship of a new opera group.

Composer, Vocal coach, orchestral percussionist, pianist. Also Jazz drummer experience from a young age as well as some more recent professional appearances, All of these skills enhance and inform the work of a Musical Director in theatre.
