Matthew Jelf is a freelance choral conductor, bass-baritone and vocal coach working in and around London. Matthew is currently a Baritone with the Philharmonia Professional Singers 2010 Scheme and holds Music Director posts with Shalford Choral Society in Guildford, and the News International Choir in Wapping. Matthew is a Choral Animateur for the Rochester Cathedral Chorister Outreach Programme in Kent, a primary school singing project funded by Sing Up. Matthew has five years experience teaching singing and piano, and works as a freelance vocal coach, oratorio and chorus soloist and piano accompanist. Excellent experienced piano accompaniment with both vocal and instrumental training, along with 5 years teaching experience in piano and voice.
Experienced in working with Music Education projects and Youth programmes including work with Sing Up, Rochester Cathedral Outreach programme, Bristol Old Vic, Colston Hall, RCM, TCM, Bradford Mela, York MEG education workshops, BLOC, BMCC, BBC Radio 3, ITV and charitable functions.
Recording experience as a pianist and vocalist in recording studios including YellowShark and Wolf Studios in Bristol and London. Vocal coaching experience for operatic, choral and solo concerts including work with RCM, TCM, RAM, UWE and York students, Shalford Choral, News Inernational Choir, Lord William's Festival Chorus, York University Symphony Chorus, Sonitus Chamber Choir, Sonus Cantorum, Sonus Opera Ensemble, Hampstead Garden Opera Chorus and in due course, The London Gay Men's Chorus, Raised Voices Choir, Purcell School and numerous primary schools across Kent.
